Aloha Friday!

It doesn't seem very 'Aloha-y' today, oh well. Make the best of it right? So I've been browsing Etsy and some home decor blogs and I have decided I want to buy a house, really bad. Somewhere I can decorate (like really decorate) - somewhere that's clean (new, so I don't live on top of other peoples messes). I want to buy shelves and furniture and tile and fixtures and plants and ... everything. I want white, green, blue, brown - fresh, light, and open. Tiled backsplash, concrete/stone counter. Wood (real wood) throughout the whole house, nice rugs. A garden to work in and kids to play in. That's what I want maybe I'll have it one day.

{I love the granite bathtub above}

What would your dream home entail?

It's Aloha Friday!

What Aloha Friday? This doesn’t just mean that we all put on our favorite Aloha shirt and start doing the Hula until our Spam and Poke (I could go for some Poke) are ready to be consumed…(or does it?)

A few years ago Douglas had started wearing a Hawaiian shirt every Friday to work, I believe it started with Safety Ray who is Hawaiian, I could be wrong though. But while we were in the islands I really got into the spirit of what an Aloha Friday really means. It is more of a feeling of joy and happiness that all your stress and endless days that you’ve endured throughout the week will soon be over. Although you may have the same amount of work on a Friday that you would on a Monday, or Wednesday, there’s a calming sensation that has entirely consumed you. There is no more stress, no more people driving to work, upset because they’d rather be at home. People are happy on Fridays, I mean really truly happy. It's an attitude a great one that I will continue to celebrate on Fridays.

On Fridays, I wear my flower in my hair, listen to the Hawaiian Radio Station I made myself on Pandora, open the windows, clean, and be happy. The spirit in our home increases and our attitudes for the weekend change. So in spirit of Aloha Friday I will be dedicating Fridays as Aloha Fridays.
Aloha Friday, No Work Til Monday.
So from now on every Friday will be a simple attitude changing quote along with what our plans are for our Aloha weekend, comment with your Aloha Friday weekend plans as well!
